New Life 4/10/2006

The first Friday night... 7:00pm. In walks Aljaz, then Tilen followed by Matic and Zan and then others. After a few minutes the place had life breathed into it! There is nothing better than the sound of students playing and laughing and having a good time with other friends.

It was great to have our fellow missionary friends, the Ricklicks, there with us to engage in more students than just Amy and I can handle alone. Overall the night was a success! We talked about Trdna Skala (Solid Rock) and the passage about us being built into a Spiritual house and that by itself a rock is pretty worthless but together with other rocks they make hospitals and roads and houses. So our Trdna Skala is a big nothing by itself but filled with students it has life and purpose. We asked them to bring a rock to symbolize their being built into this "house" if they wanted to.

The second Friday we had invited the parents to join us for an hour to play some games and just to allow the students to show off what they have helped put together in Trdna Skala. Many of the students asked if maybe their parents could come for just 15 minutes instead of a whole hour! In the end it was such a fun time and I think the students really enjoyed having their parents there. Not all of them came, but the ones that did enjoyed themselves and were pleased to see a safe and fun place for their kids to be. As they left they were all saying thanks for investing in their kids and offering help if we ever need it. It was great to develop some more trust in those relationships.

Our visit to the Doctor last week was encouraging. It was wonderful to hear that everything is going great. The Doctor is still not willing to say for sure what we're having, although we think we have an idea. It is so fun to think about bringing a baby back next time we see most of you. What a precious gift from the Lord! We are so anxious to meet our little one!

Thanks again for standing beside us in life,
Joel & Amy & the little one
