In the end, another man further back in the plane had a row all by himself and offered to switch seats with us so we could have three seats all to ourselves. It was a blessing to have empty seats on the plane, that doesn't happen very often anymore. I eventually talked the stewardess into letting me try out a bassinett for the floor because Abigail was so, so tired, but couldn't sleep on the seat. When the bassinett came it turned out to be a sort of duffel bag, I was just hoping it would provide a flatter location for Abigail to rest. When I put her in it though, she just layed there and laughed. Apparently she thought it was a funny bed and enjoyed being in the silver duffel bag.
It's been great to hear updates from Erin about what has been going on with the students while we've been away. They've really taken ownership of Trdna Skala (called TS now). The first week in January they had an awards night, did a review of the last year and all the activities they were a part of, and talked about what they want to be about for this next year. Serving. They want to serve more this next year...and we want to step in and help them do that. It's great to have them thinking, dreaming and planning...without us! We're excited to help them carry out the things they have planned and dream with them some more.
This coming weekend Josiah Venture Slovenia is hosting the JV Council meeting. All the various country leaders and national staff leaders get together throughout the year and they're coming to Slovenia this time. Our JV team is excited to host them all (about 25 or so) and share our beautiful country with them.
Well, I'm off to continue unpacking. I just wanted to let you know we are here, safe and sound! Thank you for praying for us! You can pray for Abigail's re-adjusting to the time zone here now. The past two nights she's been awake (but oh-so-tired) from 2-4 or 5am. Thank you!

I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to see you while you were here! I knew that you were very busy catching up with everyone, though, which is good. Abigail is just a little darling. :) Glad you made it back to Slo safe and sound!
Glad to hear you made it home. I love the grumpy man airplane story. :)

Glad you had a good trip and saw God's humor through it. A fun story indeed. Once you're a parent those things just jump out at you. Kids are a great venue for funny stories.
