Tilen the teacher

We're going through the gospel of John at Trdna Skala and the students are doing the teaching! Joel got together with Tilen this week to help him think through the passage and then he taught his peers on Friday night. We are so proud of him! Next up is Tjasa and then we're off for a week for another Zapik retreat.

Remember when we said that the students wanted to be about reaching out to their friends this year? Well...they have. Jernej has brought two of his friends to Trdna Skala on Wednesday afternoons and also on Friday evenings and Kiki (Katja) has brought two of her friends as well. And Aleksandra has a friend coming too. It's fun to see them inviting their friends and all on their own initiative. We asked Gregor (Aleks's friend) why he chose to come back and he said, "I just had so much fun I had to!" It's exciting to be a part of a place where students feel loved, accepted and can have fun.

We also have some adult help now...aaahh, so nice! Besides having Erin here with us for the year, we also have Sebastian and Gloria. They're a young married Slovene couple with Josiah Venture. Recently they moved up to a town called Radovljica, it's just 15-20 minutes north of us. They're starting a youth group up there and helping us out in Trdna Skala. It's so wonderful to have them join us and we're excited to partner with them up there as well.

In addition to all that help, we also have another American couple in the country that are helping out. Greg and Shannon are here from Michigan for a short time. Shannon is here playing volleyball on a Slovene team and is often busy with that so Greg joins us at Trdna Skala. It's great having another male here to spend time with the guys. The two of them will be joining us for Zapik, our retreat, that's coming up in a couple weeks.
