Last Friday night we had a one-night retreat in Kranjska Gora. It was the same place we had an English Camp at back in 2002 so it was fun to be back again. Joel taught from the book of Nehemiah about walls...what they protect, why they're built and why we might want to build one together and what we might want to protect in Trdna Skala. 
At one point he had people write on a piece of paper what they value in our group and would want to protect and then everyone folded it and put it in our "Trdna Skala Can". We usually use it to collect money for snacks and food, but that night it collected things much more important than that...words.People wrote things like...
...it's my second home, only place for friends
...the fact that we know how to do good things in a fun way
...we should respect each other and help
...I want to protect: good conversations, praising the Lord, respect, peace, freedom
All good things!
In addition to studying the Bible together...we played together! A very important part of our group! There was a little bit snow, so people ventured out for sledding. Others of us stayed inside and played games around tables. Most students stayed up the entire night or got maybe an hour of sleep! Crazy! We were not among those who stayed up...but we had a good time anyway! We're getting older!!

Špela lost at a card game and had to put 6 pieces of gum in her mouth and blow a bubble...I tried to commiserate with her.

Amy, I missed you at the JV Ladies retreat. Glad to be able to keep up with you (and our sweetest JV baby) on the blog. Look forward to seeing you in person soon. Zachary and I claim some kissing time on those baby cheeks at conference!
