He's here! Contractions started this morning at 4:00. At around 8:30 they gave the contractions a little help with some drugs to make the contractions a bit stronger to move things along faster. At 11:08 January 15, Elijah Thomas took his first breath! He is 8.5 lbs and 21 inches long.
He is 11 days late and because of that they took him to intensive care to make sure there isn't any infections. Other than that he is doing great, his skin looks good, he is crying well now and Amy just said he fed right away. They will observe him for 48 hours just to make sure he is ok. Amy is recovering great. She is already feeling good and did so great today. I couldn't be more proud of her. She is handling the whole process with a strength only God can provide. Delivering is hard enough, but having
4 people telling you what to do in the midst of it in a different language could be overwhelming. Not to mention the different cultural sensitivity and care given.May Elijah be a voice for God in his generation. Thank you Lord for giving us two children and the joy we can embrace learned out of sorrow.
Does Amy even look like she just delivered? She looks so good!

Been checking your blog every day to see some good news. Hurrah! WE've been praying and waiting on this sweet little boy. Our Nicholas was late as well and he's turned out smart & sweet (ha!) so I expect their precaution will tell us that you've got a wonderful boy who came on the day God appointed for him to be born. No worries here. Rejoicing with you!
