As we were thinking through names for this baby, we kept coming back to Caleb because that is the sort of man we pray he will be. Possessing a bold faith and trust in God!
This morning I was reflecting on that being the season of life our whole family is in and how fitting it is to have a newborn son with a name to remind us of our hope and trust in the God who has led us oh so faithfully til now. He will continue to as we trust in Him.
His middle name is in honor of my Dad, whose middle name is Allan. We're hoping he has a bit of my Dad's character. My dad is really giving and kind, a life-long learner and just a joy to be around! (I love you Dad!!)

Amy, what a sweet blessing you have! Our Kaleb (K after Karry :) is turning 7 this week, and he is living out the "bold & faithful" characteristics for sure! 2 weeks ago he was baptized--he wanted to get baptized, and he wanted the whole world to be there to see that he loves Jesus. Several months ago he started saying that he thinks God is calling him to be a missionary pilot, and that he's going to go wherever God calls him to go, "but probably Africa." :) He has not stopped saying this, and he's told me that when he is a teenager he wants to learn how to build an airplane so that he can do what he feels God is calling him to do!! Crazy, huh??? My prayer for your sweet boy is that he will be bold & faithful like our Kaleb! Congrats on another arrow for your quiver! :)
Well, I can see that praying for those attributes is a fitting thing for parents to do. Look at Samuel. He was very young, listened to God, did what He said, and yes, made mistakes along the way... but still a man of God. May Caleb, Elijah, and Alexander all turn to God, listen, and obey!!
