Last night on HGTV, House Hunters International, it was about a couple buying a vacation home in Slovenia. We were hoping they would take them to our house in Sencur since we're still waiting for it to sell, but no. They decided on a major fixer-upper in the mountains instead. It was fun to "see" Slovenia again!
Also, the contractor they hire at the end of the show is a man I met when I was at the hospital with Elijah back in May. He also is from England, went to Slovenia on vacation and fell in love with it. Found a home for his family and moved there. He connected us with one of the real estate companies that our home is listed with, an agency that lists homes for foreigners.
There is someone interested in buying our home. He offered us considerably less than we are asking for and we counter offered. He is interested and is now trying to sell a piece of property to try to meet our offer. We're praying it sells quickly or that perhaps another buyer becomes interested soon. With the drop in our financial support the past two months, we're waiting for our home to sell to get a bit more settled here, like buying a car and perhaps putting a down payment down on a house.
Joel is also searching for a job. He's applied several places, looked into a few leads and is still waiting. His most promising lead is a managerial position with Target. He filled out an online application and had a phone interview and is waiting to hear about a "round robin" interview on the 17th of November.
Just some more things to keep you posted about!!
