Some things to pray for...

  • Today and tomorrow the students are doing a camp for kids ages 5-7. It started today at 4pm and ends tomorrow night at 7pm. It's pretty exciting because this camp is student initiated, planned and run. Last night we got a phone call from one of the parents of a student that is helping. She was upset with her son because he isn't doing so good in school and doesn't seem to care about his homework. She told Joel that she was sorry but she wasn't going to let him help with the camp because it was the only thing she could take away that he really cared about and that would get his attention. It ended up being a good thing because Joel was able to tell her that we're on their side...school is most important and we support her decision. We want to see students succeed at all things in life, not just things we're involving them in. In the end, the student was able to come to the camp but he has some major improving to do in his grades...
  • This Sunday evening there will be a gospel concert in Kranj. There is a choir here from a church in California that is touring the country doing concerts. Their final one is here in Kranj, in the Preseren Theatre. We're hoping it will be a connection point for people to bring friends to.
  • Also this coming Sunday, Erin Thomas is returning! We are excited to have her back again! She'll be here for a year or so. We have just a little over three weeks here with her to help get her settled before heading back to the states for our two month furlough. Please pray for all the logistics of getting her settled, possibly finding an apartment for her, and a car, getting her reconnected with students and just plain old helping her make this feel like home...her new home!
