Five students met in our living room tonight, excited about this next year in Trdna Skala. Compiling a list of needs that they and their friends have, they brainstormed ideas of how to meet those needs. It was so fun to see the list of more than 20 ideas for serving people to meet their needs. After that, they talked about a basic weekly schedule for being together in Trdna Skala and implementing their ideas. They left here tonight to head to Cafe Terasa, a coffee shop just a few doors down from Trdna Skala where Tjasa & Nika are working to share the ideas with them since they had to work.
It is just so fun to be a part of these students lives and to walk through things like this with them and to see and hear their excitement about being leaders in their generation. I also love watching Joel lead them, knowing that he has a direction he's heading and conclusions to draw, but holding them loosely enough for the students to steer it and reach the same conclusions as he has, but on their own. It's inspiring!
