Visiting the Grandparents

We arrived safe and sound Saturday night. We missed our flight from Washington DC to Charleston because of long lines getting through customs, but were able to get a later flight. The kids were able to sleep for almost 3 hours on the floor in the airport. It worked out great!

The kids were troopers on the plane. Abigail had her own seat this time around and is small enough that both kids could fit in it during meal times or other times when Mom and Dad's laps needed a break. They really enjoyed walking or crawling up and down the aisles and making new friends with strangers along the way. Thankfully everyone was really friendly!

We've been enjoying our time with "Bamma and Bampa" as Abigail calls them, being in a fully carpeted house again, playing dress up, eating yummy American treats like Fritos, Grape Jelly, Golden Grahams, Dunkin Donuts, Chick-Fil-A, shopping...just being here has been really fun. I actually haven't had a Starbucks yet...need to do that soon!

It was also so encouraging to be at church on Sunday morning. The kids were both in Sunday School which meant Joel and I were able to just enjoy the church service. They have a weekly drama going, leading up to Christmas with a man who is playing a Jewish man and sounds exactly like the father in Fiddler on the Roof. It was really enjoyable to watch.

On the way home from church I asked Abigail if she enjoyed Sunday School and she said, "I crying...Mama!" over and over again. The workers had said she cried the first few minutes and then was fine, but she made it sound like she cried the entire time!
So here's a few photos of our trip and time so far...
Elijah has been cruising up the stairs non-stop since we got here! Thankfully it's all nicely carpeted and no tumbles yet...
Lori Jackson said at the airport in Ljubljana before we left that if Abigail couldn't sleep on the seats, we could try the overhead bins. She's a perfect fit!

Joel said she looks like a stewardess for a low-budget airline. : )
Oh so yummy!

I can't believe you haven't had Starbucks yet! Glad you are enjoying your time there! It's not quite the same without you guys here but I am keeping busy. :-)
