Yellow Bramma & Brampa

The kids enjoyed being on the airplane this time around. We each had our own TV screens and there was a channel devoted to cartoons for the kids to watch. They both slept the final 2 hours of the 9 hour flight and then slept the whole flight from Chicago to Portland and another 2 of the 3 hour drive from the airport to my parents house. I was able to literally squeeze onto the floor in front of the seats and sleep for awhile as well and Joel got some rest too. We arrived here around 2:30 in the morning and after hugging Bramma & Brampa over and over again and playing for awhile, we all got to sleep around 4am. It was a L O N G journey, but it went well and we were all glad to be here.

About a month ago, Abigail started calling my parents "yellow" Bramma & Brampa and Joel's parents, "red" Bramma & Brampa. We think it's cute and all started referring to them all that way!
The kids have been really enjoying Grandparent time. It took a few days for Elijah to really warm up, but now he walks through the house calling out, "Baba!!" which is for either Grandma or Grandpa.One morning Abigail got to have a coffee date with Grandpa. There is a group here on the ranch called "Walkers & Talkers". They walk a trail early in the morning and then have coffee together afterward. Dad meets them for the coffee part and Abigail got to go with him. She just stuck pretty close to Grandpa...which he really enjoyed!We've had lots of play time and are mostly just relaxing which is so nice after such a busy time of preparing to leave and then the emotional exhaustion of actually leaving our home in Slovenia.Joel is off to a golf tournament with Dad today. We're still having summer weather here, that's been fun to enjoy!
