Years ago, Joel and I went to the zoo on a rainy/drizzly day and the animals were all so active! It was really fun to watch them all enjoying their environments. So we were hoping for some cooler weather that day as well, and it was in the morning but it warmed up around noon, leaving most of the animals sleeping or laying around. The polar bear was swimming around for awhile though and that was fun to see.
The kids enjoyed it all and the extra time with Grandma & Grandpa or "Bapa" as Elijah calls them both. Grandma & Grandpa enjoyed the extra time with the kids too and felt the 3 hour drive over the mountain was well worth it! We felt it was worth it as well to have the extra arms for holding the kids!

A special day, a special feeling of just being able to enjoy our grandchildren, the warm fall day, and our children, as well! Want to do it again? Anytime! Maybe in January....
