Last year we celebrated Joel's birthday by taking a walk on the Springwater Trail. We took Abby & Elijah's bikes and let them ride while Caleb & Hannah rode in strollers. I remember Joel and I talking about how nice it was to have a little older children who could ride their own bikes and looking forward to family bike rides someday.

After a little walk on the trail, we headed to nearby Cold Stone Creamery and shared some yummy ice-cream! Yum, yum!

This year we celebrated a couple different times. Friday night
we went out to dinner as a family...doesn't happen very often, unless
you count McDonalds or Taco Bell! Ha! : ) Joel wanted to go to Red
Robin, so off we went! Loaded with Leapsters, board books and Joel's old
iphone which is filled with kid's games. We were prepared! The kids did
great though and we were talking about how nice it is to be in a new place as a
family.

Joel's actual birthday fell on a Monday this year, so we invited Jon & Erin and boys over for dinner and cake to celebrate.
Joel had some extra help blowing out the candles!
