Coloring Eggs!

It's getting to be a fun tradition of coloring eggs at Easter! We still had one spill, but we were better prepared for it and that takes out half of the frustration. ;) Abby and Elijah are remembering holiday traditions and things we do and that is making things really enjoyable. They're becoming our whole family's traditions and not just things that Mom (& Dad) drive the family to do but all of us wanting to do things together because "oh yeah...I  remember, we did that last year!"

I love how they're all watching the egg to see what's going to happen!

 Caleb's still curious!
Fun, fun, fun! Happy smiles from Cabub!
 Hannah's got a green hand! ;)

 Cutie-patootie having fun!!
Good job working together Abby & Elijah!
Daddy got in on the action too!
Abby wrote her name on one! : )
The kids didn't know that I had secretly written each of their initials on eggs with the white wax crayon. Tee, hee, hee! It was a fun surprise! And...if you switch Abby's and Elijah's initials, our kids initials would spell the word, "each". Kinda fun and perhaps a bit of a spiritual illustration in there somewhere too!

Caleb's green fingers and egg! :)
 Funny joker boy!

Hannah had an "owie" on her leg...it's just outside her diaper and she was having a hard time sitting in her chair that day. I finally looked at it closer and decided that it was an infected hair follicle. I applied several warm washcloths on it for about 10 minutes then took her to the bathroom to put a Q-tip with some hydrogen peroxide on it. Well, she ended up throwing up on me/ the bathroom floor. We put her in the shower for a bit and then had some snuggle time with Daddy all wrapped up. Sometime while she was wrapped up the "owie" burst...which is yucky, but was good! It was pretty red and swollen, so we put a band-aid on it and put her to bed.
The next day was Easter and it continued to drain and she developed a fever overnight. Not a bad one, but she was definitely not feeling well. I held her on my lap during church service and then took her to Urgent Care later that afternoon. It seems like most bad sicknesses happen on weekends. : ) They gave me a prescription for antibiotics and she's been slowly healing all week. Sunday night (2-3am) her temperature spiked to around 104 so I was wondering if I needed to take her to the ER, but decided to wait until the morning and take her to her regular pediatrician. Thankfully she was able to sleep the rest of the night.

The Dr. the next morning marked the redness on her leg with a pen, which by then was a 3-1/2 in. by a 4-1/2 inch area. She said to continue with the antibiotic and tylenol/advil to keep her fever down and if worsens over the next 24 hours to come back in. It didn't...she took a 4 hour nap that afternoon and by the time we were getting her ready for bed, the red area was about half the previous size and she hadn't had a fever since that morning. I'm so thankful the Lord has given Man the mind to create medicine!! When you have the right one, it really works!! So it's now Friday and she still has a bit of a knot in her leg, but it continues to get smaller each day and it's no longer draining. I knew on Tuesday after running some errands when we came home and she ran and jumped a little bit in the driveway that she was feeling better! Thank you Lord!! The Dr.'s office called on Wednesday and said it was a bit of staph infection but looks like we caught it early and found the right medicine to get it healing right away. ...so thankful!!
