Busy Social Calendars

It's only March, but it has felt like May or June the past month! It has been so very nice to have so much warm sunshine! The kids have been outside every day; riding bikes, climbing trees, jumping on the trampoline, playing hide-n-seek, doing gymnastics...anything and everything! It has been fun to watch them!

With the spring weather, we've been getting together with friends more too! Caleb had his buddy, Grant Moffat over a couple of times. They both attend Tree of Knowledge Preschool, so it's an easy add-on after preschool to bring another boy home. They play SO well together! They're so similar in their imaginations, it's entertaining to listen to their little voices as they play "planes" together!

Caleb also invited another boy from church over to play. His name is Miles Moffat (Grant's cousin) and his brain is wired differently than ours. To Caleb though, he's "just Miles." He has been asking to have a play date with Miles for about a month, so we finally made it happen. It warmed my heart to see our little guy encouraging Miles and playing with him just like he was made the same as Caleb. I told Joel later that day  that I need to remember that part of who Caleb is on the hard days.
Hannah has made a new friend too! Her name is Emily Rasmussen. We've known her family since Abby was in Kindergarten because her older brother was in the same class as Abigail. About 6 months ago they started coming to Cornerstone and it's been so nice to spend time with their family. Another family of 6!
Abby has had some play dates as well. With her good friend Autumn as well as Aubrey Moffat. Usually when Abby plays with Autumn, we switch with the brothers, Elijah & Levi. Last Sunday, Abby spent the afternoon at the Johnson's house after church and Levi was with us. Sometimes we flip-flop and that's fun too!
Elijah also played with Caleb Meyer (who our Caleb has called "Fred Meyer" since Elijah was in Preschool with him!) one afternoon. I didn't get any pictures that time, but I don't want to leave Elijah out! Especially since he's probably our most social person of the bunch!!

We've gotten to do quite a few "long walks" (which is a 1-mile loop near our neighborhood) too which usually means that Mommy gets to have the "play date" as well as we walk and talk. It's usually my friend Christy Amadio and her son, Stephen but also Natalie and her sons Ethan & Luke (Lukey is what Hannah calls him!) have done it with us too! Sometime I need to take pictures because someday I am going to miss having little people along with all their bikes and scooters or just seeing their little legs running the mile-long loop!
