Soccer...7 beautiful Days, 1 Soggy Day

October 10th. Today just feels like fall. Outside, it's rainy and blustery with leaves falling off trees. Inside; scented candles are glowing, we had chili from the crock pot for dinner with fresh applesauce and we're all tired out from a day of soccer games. Caleb had the final game (for our family) that ended after just 3 minutes of play time but it was such a windy downpour they canceled it as we all ran for cover, soaked head to foot in just those three minutes! It really was so crazy, some kids loving it and squealing in delight, parents scrambling as fast as they could. I turned around at one point and found Caleb crying, asking, "Is this a tornado?!!" I assured him it was just a crazy storm as we ran for cover. He was really scared though! I wanted to take some pictures afterward but my camera was soaked as well! Yikes!

Soccer season has been beautiful so far though so I am not complaining at all! We've had 7 games in beautiful weather! Abbie's team has been having fun at practices and at games. They're coming together as a team and learning how to pass and stay in their positions and work together to score goals. Today was a double-header for the girls and they ended up losing both games, but it was the first two they've lost so far! Abbie is finding a place on the defensive side, learning how to get in on the action to give the ball a big boot to send it back over to the scoring side.

I took this during halftime of the rainy 2nd game today. It was definitely a "huddle up" time to try to stay warm and dry!

Elijah's having a great time on his team too! Those boys are all in their first year up from Micros and hit the ground running as far as staying in positions and passing the ball. It's been fun to watch them play together! Elijah's sweet-spot is definitely on defense and he seems to really enjoy playing it! He's got quite a kick to get the ball back over to the offense side.

I had to edit this picture because the camera focused on the bright spots in the sky and made part where Elijah is all dark. It's a fun one though of him giving the ball a good "lift"! :)

Caleb is a speedster on his team and got a taste for scoring goals early in the season so that what he aims to do each game. He has scored 2-3 goals each game since that first goal. It's fun to watch him play, maneuvering down the field, or around all the players to get to the goal and kick it in!
I took this one today after their "3" minutes of play time. ;) It was so dark, I had to edit this one too to lighten it up to see the boys. They were all bundled up with their jerseys on the outside!

Hannah gets to practice with Caleb's team this year and is loving it! She's fun to watch and enjoys "scoring goals" which is just kicking the ball in the goal at practice. She's enjoying it though and definitely looking forward to being on her own team next year!

We have some stunning sunsets out there! It's sure a pretty place to play soccer!
